PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Health Services team at CPKC includes Leaders, Occupational Health Nurses, Physicians, Specialists, Analysts and Coordinators who are responsible to ensure compliance with Company's relevant Policies and Procedures in both US and Canada.

Our team supports Operations by ensuring that no individual occupies or performs Safety Critical or Safety Sensitive duties without appropriate medical fitness for work assessments and clearance. Our team is committed to supporting employees with on-duty and off-duty injury or illness by facilitating the employment of such persons, whenever reasonable and appropriate, through a coordinated effort. We support employee health and well-being by promoting early intervention to employees who become ill or injured and facilitate timely and safe return to work. Our goal is to provide a consistent process through which CPKC supports employees with timely reintegration to regular or modified/alternate work duties, as appropriate, in conjunction with their recovery. We ensure that the assessment of fitness/return to work is based on an individual's specific job requirement, the nature of any medical condition(s) and the level of potential safety risk. 

 

As an integral part of Health Services, your position will focus on improving processes and driving efficiencies through the use of AI tools. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to identify opportunities for automation, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity.

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Develop and implement AI-driven solutions to automate manual tasks.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management and Teams) for documentation, communication, and collaboration.
  • Create and optimize workflows using Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Conduct web scraping to gather relevant data for analysis.
  • Write and maintain code (Python, R, or other relevant languages) to assist with automation.
  • A few automation opportunities include:
    • Sending automated notifications to stakeholders based on standardized data inputs in systems
    • Setting up email sequences after a triggered event.
    • Automatically processing invoices to send to Accounts Payable for monthly vendor payments.
    • Sending reminders for deadlines and approvals.
    • Creating workflows to upload documents to OpenText Enterprise Content Management system and/or SAP.
    • Centralized tracking of Team Projects with live updates on current status and completion % of tasks etc.
    • Auto-assigning tasks and projects to team members based on skillset.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field).
  • Advanced knowledge of using Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Basic understanding of web scraping techniques.
  • Experience with coding and scripting (Python, R, or similar languages).
  • Exposure to workflow automation using Power Automate.
  • Interest in process optimization and AI-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
