SAP FICA Functional Analyst

The Specialist role will utilize their technology background in SAP to help meet departmental service level objectives regarding the Order-to-Cash process (will gather requirements, analyze, estimate, prioritize, design, build, test, implement and maintain the required functionality within SAP in support of business processes and procedures.) It is expected to develop a deep understanding of the way billing process and its relation with invoicing, as well as experience interacting with the CFDI compliance environment in Mexico (CFDI stamping, cancellations, payment complements etc.).  This role will be involved in tracing the waybill cycle, especially its transition from an operational document to a financial one (GL/subledger level)

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintaining and supporting CPKC’s SAP (ECC & S/4) footprint in all revenue processes following Service and Change management corporate procedures. Ensure that all stakeholders are updated on progress as well.
  • Proactively participate in daily monitoring and operations process required for ensuring any incidents are avoided or detected in time on supported applications in the the Lead to Cash value chain.
  • Support the completion of application service requests, provide continual business application support, research transactional issues, identify root causes as well as assist with upgrade and maintenance of applications.
  • Understand business issues and opportunities. Analyze and define both the “As Is” and “To Be” business processes and perform gap analysis.
  • Develop test scripts and support testing of existing solutions for projects, upgrades, incident fixes, and application service requests in the Lead-to-Cash value chain.
  • Perform analysis of existing solutions to understand how they function. Further using this analysis to resolve incidents and/or design improvements and enhance documentation pertaining to them.
  • Interact with the Business Analysis and architecture teams to develop diagrams and models (use case, activity diagram, business process models, etc.) and clearly document functional requirements and business rules to describe what the system, process, or product/service must do in order to fulfill the business and user requirements and/or create documentation for undocumented procedures
  • Develop quick guides and training materials geared towards enhancing the Business Users capabilities in extracting value from the applications.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline. 5+ Years experience in related field
  • 5+ years of experience of SAP ECC and S/4 HANA environment, skilled in navigating and configuring the system. Ideally at least 2 or more full project lifecycles in modules related to L2C (FICA, BRIM, SD)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment with the ability to understand both technical intricacies and also see the big picture ramifications and downstream impacts. 
  • Ability to formulate and test hypothesis based on system behaviors, in order to troubleshoot and detect root causes.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, sometimes with limited information provided.

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
