PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Disability Management (DM) team facilitates and brokers the return to work of ill, injured, or disabled employees as efficiently as possible through collaboration with Management, Claims representative, Health Services, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Benefits, Insurance Carriers, Unions, and required stakeholders while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation (e.g. Human Rights Legislation, Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation, Privacy legislation and other related Federal regulations (US and Canada) and Company Policies.

As an integral member of the DM team, you will assist with the review and updating of Job Demands Analysis documents. These documents are regularly provided to physicians, healthcare providers, insurance and/or benefit providers to assist in identifying an employees capability of returning to work or outlining required restrictions for accommodation.

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • Review existing Job Demands Analysis (JDA) documents related to a variety of different roles within the Engineering, Mechanical, and Train & Engine departments and identify any changes to primary responsibilities, equipment, schedule, work environment, and required physical demands
  • Assess physical demands of current individual tasks being performed as compared to existing documentation and identify required updates
  • Preparation of written reports to document JDA updates
  • Visit train yards, mechanical shops, and track sites as required to review individual job actions
  • Adhere to CPKC’s Health and Safety policies

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Students in Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy programs will be considered
  • Must hold a Class 5 driver’s permit
  • Access to a vehicle to travel to different work sites
  • Must be proficient with MS Office
  • Experience with performing Job Demands Analysis, Physical Demands Analysis, or Ergonomic Assessments is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
