PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Coordinator HR Business Partnering, you will provide support to the CP HRBP team. You will be primarily responsible for coordinating and supporting the team of HR Business Partners on a variety of activities related to the Employee Life Cycle processes.  These accountabilities could include offer letter support for both internal and external hires, organizational chart creation, metrics tracking, new hire onboarding and working closely with our Employee Services team to answer employee inquiries.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Key accountabilities include:

  • Preparation of documents related to internal employee movement, performance improvement plans, terminations, and other employee relations matters as required by the HR Business Partner team
  • Preparation of offer letters for both internal and external candidates, engaging of TA to initiate background check processes and new hire forms, verification of approvals
  • Organization chart creation and maintenance as well as position management tracking for internal clients
  • Supporting the HR Business Partner team in preparation and delivery of key annual programs including strategic planning, goal setting and performance, succession and compensation reviews
  • Generation of regular and ad hoc reports on specific HR metrics or client requests
  • Facilitation of monthly Corporate onboarding meetings with CP new hires in conjunction with an assigned TM resource
  • Contributing individually or as part of a team to deliver on HR-related projects such as employee engagement, continuous improvement, and retention initiatives or career fairs
  • General human resources administration support to the HRBP Team.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of or working towards a University Degree in an applicable field or equivalent;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines;
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as a part of dispersed HR team;
  • Ability to exhibit discretion in handling confidential / sensitive information;
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience with SAP or an equivalent HRIS system is an asset.

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CP. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
