PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Analyst Track Evaluation/ Technology will be responsible for Data Management and Control within the Track Geometry Group. The role provides direct assistance to the Manager Track Technology with supporting Digital Track Notebook (DTN), Automated Maintenance Advisor (AMA), Visio Stack, Tetratrack, Autonomous Track Geometry Measurement System and Image Data Analysis. The main work location for this position requires the candidate to be based within our current network across Canada and weekend coverage is required to adapt to a unique rotating shift schedule.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop and produce geometry reports in a timely manner
- Support case developments for new technology purchases and/or process integrations based on data analysis results to improve railway safety and efficiency
- Propose new processes and technologies to improve investigation data retrieval and processing capabilities
- Define requirements and work with IT staff to incorporate all technological changes
- Control and filter access to Track Systems Data requests
- Pull data queries including derailment information
- Performs periodic quality inspection reviews of the TEC output to ensure the quality and reliability of the data
- Develop reports for Capital Planning
- Provide vacation relief within Track Geometry/ Technology group
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Engineering degree or relevant professional work experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport with ability to travel to U.S./Canada without restrictions
- 2+ years of experience showcasing mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders
- Experience in Data analysis and the ability to draw conclusions and communicate results, Prior exposure to Geometry Brush Charts (WinDBC, ARIES, GEOEdit, RailEdit)
- Exceptional communication skills for multiple audiences with diverse levels of experience
- May require compiling data records/request outside of normal business hours

Management Conductor Program
