PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Manager Machine Operator Qualifications will train, mentor, and evaluate Engineering employees on skill level and ability, monitoring training record and recommending potential training requirement. The successful candidate will document, process and track qualification / disqualification of engineering employees.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Evaluate the skill levels against set parameters for engineering machine operators
  • Develops continuous improvement opportunities through training and technical support
  • Train , coach, monitor and evaluate engineering employees operating work equipment
  • Document and process employee qualification / disqualification of engineering Machine Operators
  • Plan, Schedule and Monitor approved training classes associated with machine operators
  • Implements, educates and provides guidance to employees contributing to improved safety
  • Interact with employees to ensure/understand performance requirements of inspections and preventive maintenance per current instructions
  • Manage and mentor a Unionized Trainer-Mentor if/when required
  • Apply the collective agreement
  • Stop unsafe work practices and behaviors

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years production crew or work equipment maintenance experience
  • Knowledge / understanding of engineering field operations and production crews
  • Must be bilingual in English & French
  • Computer literate
  • Rules qualified
  • Knowledge / understanding of CBA related to qualification / disqualification of position
  • Organizational and people leadership
  • Good communication skills verbal and written
