PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Procurement Purchasing, the Procurement Analyst – Services is responsible for the daily procurement of services supporting CPKC’s operations across Canada and the United States using both Ariba and SAP platforms. The role supports and optimizes the end-to-end Sourcing-to-Pay (S2P) and Purchase Requisition-to-Pay (PR2P) processes, ensuring efficient procurement operations and compliance with organizational requirements. The incumbent works closely with suppliers, requisitioners, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain accurate purchase order processing, contract alignment, invoice resolution, supplier enablement, and system compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide end-to-end Purchase Requisition-to-Pay (PR2P) support for CPKC services across Canada and the United States
  • Provide end-user support and training on Sourcing-to-Pay (S2P) processes and systems
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Manage purchased services transactions through Ariba and SAP
  • Ensure suppliers are transacting through the appropriate procurement system and support supplier enablement activities within Ariba
  • Manage and resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Monitor aged and open purchase orders; follow up with requisitioners and suppliers as required to facilitate closure, including resolution of GR/IR imbalances
  • Export SAP reports and analyze KPI metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate and communicate procurement initiatives with team members and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Execute supplier management and supplier performance initiatives
  • Review and interpret service contracts to ensure purchase orders are aligned with contractual requirements
  • Develop, execute, and maintain individual continuous improvement action plans

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-Secondary Education preferably a University Degree (Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering an asset)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Procurement and/or inventory management
  • General knowledge of railway industry is an asset
  • Good understanding of supply chain management
  • ARIBA/SAP/ERP experience is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multitask and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service focus
  • Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
