Administrative Assistant
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Administrative Assistant will work in a dynamic team environment providing administrative support to the Legal Services group. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, and will undertake tasks that are time-sensitive and confidential. This is a short-term temporary position for 2 months.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support file and document management, using tools such as MS Office, MS Outlook, PDF, Visio, SharePoint, and data rooms (such as FTPs, and other data transfer and data storage systems), ensuring that files are properly opened, stored, and closed, in accordance with company process
- Assist with the compilation, and organization of sensitive and/or confidential documentation, such as correspondence, contracts, pleadings, briefs, reports, and other records as required and as advised by legal counsel
- Input data from various sources into CPKC systems and identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in data
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files while ensuring accuracy and completeness of all data entered
- Collaborate with team members to ensure data is entered correctly and in a timely manner
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in these fields, preferred
- Sophisticated computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
