PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Analyst/Specialist, Treasury will play a key role in supporting Canadian Pacific’s treasury operations.  The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the CP Finance Team to support CP’s business needs, including cash management, FX and commercial paper transactions, banking and payment execution, and corporate finance / capital markets initiatives.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Execute day to day cash management activities including cash forecasting, positioning and payments; 
  • Forecast corporate liquidity in coordination with planning and tax teams;
  • Execute FX, commercial paper and money market investment trades;
  • Build, develop and maintain financial models in excel; 
  • Maintain and monitor third party debt and credit facilities; 
  • Support capital allocation decisions including dividend, debt and share repurchase programs;
  • Maintain rating agency models and presentation materials;
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables with speed and precision;
  • Drive process improvements to control costs, optimize assets, and reduce risk; 
  • Ensure strict compliance with SOX controls.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related field;
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience;
  • Excellent excel and financial modelling skills; 
  • Knowledge of basic derivative instruments (FX forwards, cross-currency swaps); 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently and drive results with limited oversight.
