PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The CPKC Co‑op Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with a large public company while contributing to meaningful projects that create real impact. You’ll analyze data, collaborate with industry experts, and help improve business processes in real time. The placement is ideal for students who are passionate about analytics, problem‑solving, and learning in a fast‑paced environment. This is an 8-month co-op term, beginning September 2026.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial data
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support preparation of monthly forecasts for revenue, expenses and/or capital
  • Support finance and accounting projects, including process improvements and IT enhancements

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preference will be given to students entering 3rd or 4th year
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
