Functional Analyst SAP Benefits & Interfaces

The Specialist Functional Analyst is accountable for gathering, understanding and documenting business processes, and the requirements and specifications needed to recommend and implement a SAP HCM solution that will enable the organization to achieve its goals.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintaining and supporting CPKC’s Benefits configuration, changes and related vendor interfaces and vendor management
  • Creating and/or updating Human Capital Management (HCM) Benefits configuration and business process procedures documentation
  • Analyzing, developing, testing and implementing new functionalities for enhancement and support pack updates in SAP ECC 6.0 versions
  • Translating requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems to technical teams designing and implementing the solution. Assist with creating user guides and training.
  • Developing detailed test plans and scripts for SAP HCM Benefits, using Jira and Qtest; and working with other functional teams to ensure that continued effective integration of SAP is achieved 
  • Working independently on resolving issues in the system and being able to build a solution to prevent issues reoccurance
  • Ability to “see” the big picture and effects of the proposed changes on the whole SAP landscape
  • Good communication and documentation skills and abitliy to deliver under pressure and time constraints
  • Capture and document non-functional requirements that are important to the user community (i.e. usability, learnability, reliability). Liaise with Architecture Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure other non-functional requirements are considered (i.e. security, compatibility, maintainability).
  • Develop diagrams and models (use case, activity diagram, business process models, etc.) and clearly document functional requirements and business rules to describe what the system, process, or product/service must do in order to fulfill the business and user requirements.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree / Diploma in Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
  • Must have experience in SAP – HCM
  • 5+ years of practical experience with using a wide variety of techniques to elicit requirements (i.e. Research, Verbal protocols, Focus groups, Brainstorming, Interviews, Questionnaires, Prototyping, etc.) and in using a variety of models/diagrams/documents to capture, document and interpret requirements
  • Excellent understanding of SAP HCM submodule(s) with a preference for Benefits, OM/PA , Expense (Concur) and Interfaces
  • Fundamental knowledge of railway operations and processes an asset
  • Expertise in facilitation, negotiation, gaining consensus and managing conflict of diverse stakeholder groups

Management Conductor Program:
