Functional Analyst SuccessFactors

The Specialist Functional Analyst SAP HCM will gather requirements, analyze, design, estimate, prioritize, build, test, implement and maintain the required functionality within SucessFactors in support of business requirements, processes and procedures.



  • Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from diverse group of stakeholders
  • Maintaining and supporting SuccessFactors Total Compensation and Security Modules as well as other various HR applications
  • Exhibit technical experience with SuccessFactors, SAP ECC and integrations with a focus on Compensation and Authorizations
  • Manage incidents, problems and change requests related to HR applications, collaborate with the clients and documenting resolution information
  • Provide recommendations on process and system improvements
  • Assess, educate and communicate to the business’ units information related to SuccessFactors semiannual upgrades/releases, implementing new functionalities for enhancements for the Compensation module. In addition, coordinate testing of SuccessFactors modules during these times
  • Creating and/or updating SuccessFactors Compensation configuration and business process procedures documentation
  • Capture and document non-functional requirements that are important to the user community (i.e. usability, learnability, reliability). Liaise with architecture to ensure other non-functional requirements are considered (i.e. security, compatibility, maintainability)
  • Configure SuccessFactors in accordance with the business requirements & functional specifications
  • Participate in creation of the test strategy and test plans. Ensure traceability of requirements back to business need
  • Validate the solution meets the business need and verify it conforms to specifications through testing
  • Translating requirements, through functional specification document, for changes to business processes, policies and information systems to technical teams designing and implementing the solution
  • Assist with creating user guides and training



  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science, Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of Functional Analysis and Business Analysis within SuccessFactors (compensation and security) and SAP environment
  • Must have experience in SAP SuccessFactors Compensation and Security
  • Excellent understanding of Success Factors platform design, architecture and release processes
  • Ability to build working relationships and integrate with various teams
  • Expertise in facilitation, negotiation, gaining consensus and managing conflict of diverse stakeholder groups
  • Appreciation and understanding of how to deal with different cultural values and sensitivities and how to work in a virtual work environment
  • Experience in 24 x 7 system maintenance and support environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of railway operations and processes an asset

Management Conductor Program:
