Hospitality Attendant

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The hospitality attendant interacts with guests on the Royal Canadian Pacific or at RCP facilitated events. They have various responsibilities such as preparing materials, housekeeping, serving food and beverages, handling baggage, and ensuring guest comfort. This position is primarily based at 1881 Lodge (CPKC Rest House) and Ogden Station in Calgary.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Build memorable service experiences for all CPKC guests
  • Support a safe working environment by working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and federal health regulations
  • Housekeeping: Cleaning of bedrooms, washrooms, dining room, service areas, and common areas. Tasks include but are not limited to polishing, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning windows, washing dishes, minor repairs, making beds, cleaning silver, laundry services, and stocking supplies
  • Guest Services: Respond to the multiple demands and needs of all guests resulting in service that goes above and beyond including food service, meeting services, and RCP event support
  • Baggage handling: Handle guest luggage transfers safely with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain a record of CPKC executive and the executive guest’s special requirements and preferences and ensure that these are accurately accommodated in all activities. Engage that knowledge to facilitate an outstanding experience
  • Liaise with suppliers; purchasing department
  • Act as administrative support for reservations, event planning; 1881 Lodge catering support, Ogden station Novisign, Square Dashboard, Website
  • Maintain accurate records and checklists with a passion for service and an attention to detail in all tasks assigned
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driver’s license and a valid passport
  • Standard first aid, Level C CPR 
  • ProServe and Food Safety certification 
  • Housekeeping experience would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and nights
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a validated high level of respect, discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience with outstanding front of house customer service

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
