PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Solution Architect you will ensure that all solutions designed, developed and/or acquired comply with IT architectural standards and directions and guide IT projects so that deliverables support the stated roadmap and move us towards the desired end state.  You will be a subject matter expert in at least four areas within Enterprise Content Management (capture and scanning, document management, document centric workflow, Digital Asset management, Records Management, Data Archiving (including SAP ERP), Web Content Management and Information management Governance. 

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Act as a solution architect for content management projects including technical upgrade;
  • Prepare and maintain design patterns for integrating Enterprise applications (such as SAP systems) with the Content Repository, and proactively identifies opportunities where changes to records management can improve usability and performance of the applications;
  • Maintain a general understanding of Record Management, with detailed understanding of how to configure and maintain record retention schedules and taxonomy’s;
  • Coach, review and delegate work to ECM Specialist and Analysts members;
  • Make moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance integration with business facing systems;
  • Assist peers and less experienced team members faced to resolve difficult and often complex problems within the content repositories or across content repositories (SharePoint; Open Text ECM; shared drives and legacy content management applications);
  • Influence others to manage content using methods to reduce duplication; maintain data integrity and apply records management as required;
  • Contribute to the development of goals and initiatives to implement or extend Enterprise Content Management disciplines across Business functional areas to effectively capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver critical information for employees, business stakeholders and customers;
  • Ability to solve difficult and moderately complex problems involving integration between content repositories and business facing systems;
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of application integration techniques, which enable business-facing applications to retrieve data and images from content repositories;
  • Has a deep understanding in one or more business areas and their content type (digital, physical, imaged, data migration; metadata requirements and records management configuration);
  • Provide input into departmental document archiving and legacy content management decommissioning opportunities;
  • Make and document moderate to significant improvements of technological solutions, processes, systems or products to enhance performance of job area;
  • Act as a subject matter expert to quickly assess and resolve issues and problems;
  • Deliver in-house training and knowledge sharing sessions to the broader Solution architects and delivery leads when required;
  • Peer review technical documents prepared by ECM team;
  • Update ECM Services roadmap based overall IS and vendors roadmaps;
  • Provide advanced technical ideas and Innovative solutions to build technical capabilities in the function;
  • Quality Management (planning, assurance, control and continuous improvement) and Identifies Automation opportunities to achieve consistent quality levels for ECM systems;
  • Communicate with internal business stakeholders to highlight how ECM solution will add business benefits and meet regulatory and legal requirements in classifying, preserving content including records;
  • Communicate  with IS counterparts on updating IS standards and IS roadmap to take advantages of ECM areas;
  • Communicate with external parties to the organization (e.g., technology vendors) to learn about product ability to deliver ECM and Data Management functions;
  • Influences configuration of content management taxonomy’s and functionality between business units to align with standards.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree in computer science or equivalent is must;
  • Association for Intelligent Information Management (AIIM) Information Management professional certification is plus;
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as ECM Solution Architect on OpenText Enterprise Information management platform;
  • 3 - 4 years of experience of Programming experience in Oscript, JavaScript, is an asset;
  • 4 - 5 years of experience in designing solution using OpenText enterprise library services, Extended ECM for SAP, content web services and OpenText directory services;
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in defining solution architecture of OpenText content and archive center deployment in cloud environment and supporting the implementation from architecture perspective;
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in defining solution architecture and design for SharePoint online including migration from on premise SharePoint and integration with MS teams;
  • Experience in several and expert knowledge in at least two of the following areas: mutual TLS and certificate based authentication, software load balancing, web server security tightening;
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of document management and records management principles;
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure supporting content management systems; database technologies; data migration programming techniques; security postures affecting privileged data; Privacy laws and access; Records Management & data archiving;
  • Proficiency with MS SQL databases, network architecture, firewalls, extranet security, virtual environments, backup and high availability;
  • Advanced cross-functional knowledge of documents and records management solutions and advanced knowledge of three of the following ECM areas:( capture and scanning, document management, document centric workflow, Digital Asset management, Records Management, Data Archiving (including SAP), Information management Governance,);
  • Understands the 5 ITIL stages (Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation and Continual service improvement) and its processes;
  • Comprehensive level of technical knowledge in Web application deployment and architecture, including:
    • Securing communication between enterprise applications such as certificate based. authentication and TLS
    • Web server (such as Tomcat) security tightening and upgrade
  • Participate in recruiting, training and mentoring staff, as necessary;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Solid time management and planning skills;
  • Ability to deliver under aggressive time line and work on multiple assignments in parallel;
  • Provides technical support for project team members to review and suggest improvements to integrations between content management repositories and business systems along with taxonomy and metadata recommendations.
