The Specialist Finance Systems and Reporting works as part of a team committed to delivering actionable business insights on CP’s performance by driving improvements in Finance systems and reports. This position contributes to cross-functional Finance system improvement initiatives, and sustains data integrity, functionality and effectiveness of those systems. The Specialist reports to the Manager, Finance Systems and Reporting as part of the Finance Department.



  • Stewards cross-functional initiatives with Finance and Information Services to improve cost control through increased cost visibility;
  • Serves as a liaison between Finance and Information Services to manage improvement initiatives including gathering business requirements, assessing technology configuration, providing input on system and process configuration and design, and supporting system and user testing;
  • Partners with Information Services to provide support and solutions to Finance system errors and failures;
  • Creates and maintains Finance systems master data including implementation and improvement of policies, processes and standards;
  • Provides guidance and training to users to ensure effective and efficient use of Finance systems;
  • Ensures internal control (SOX) requirements for data integrity and system processes are operating effectively; and
  • Supports other Finance initiatives as required.



  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Computer Sciences, or other relevant fields;
  • Professional Finance designation preferred (or progress toward designation);
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience using SAP and BPC in large organizations, ideally with exposure to multiple modules of SAP including Finance and Controlling, Plant Maintenance, or Procurement;
  • Experience with analytics application tools (e.g. SAP Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, ACL, etc.) as well as Excel and Access/SQL query;
  • Apply critical thinking and creativity to find unique solutions to complex issues;
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who is capable of working independently.

Management Conductor Program:
