Purpose of the Position

The IS team provides cloud security for multiple solutions across CP. The cloud team is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting secure cloud solutions that provide a secure environment for applications and data.  The cloud team is responsible for maintaining a secure cloud environment in SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.  This role will be responsible for working with Solution Architects, the Enterprise Security team, and other IS members to develop, deliver, and support cloud solutions that reduce the overall risk of CPs use of cloud service. This position will report to the Director, Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) and will provide hands-on cloud security development.  This position will work very closely with Enterprise Security domain architects to align cloud security with CP’s overall security standards and requirements.

 

Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain security architecture, directives and standards for cloud application and data security including integration between cloud and on-premise.
  • Integrate security tools into build/deployment pipelines;
  • Communicate and work with development teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities;
  • Educate, evangelize and promote secure cloud, coding, and software development practices with application teams;
  • Administer and manage various security and vulnerability management technologies including:
    • Identify security-related gaps with existing and new workloads;
    • Conduct security testing activities on existing and new workloads;
    • Work with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Application, and Enterprise Security teams to secure existing and new workloads;
    • Advise project and operational teams on good security practices;
    • Provide technical advice and assistance on general cybersecurity related matters.
  • Ability to identify possible methods of attack, identify and implement risk mitigation, and coordinate intrusion attacks with the SIEM team.
  • Implement automation that makes security easy to integrate into the Software Development Lifecycle;
  • Advise on application and cloud security;
  • Collaborate with teams deploying in the cloud to identify, implement, and maintain a least-privileges approach to operations and development

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience;
  • This role requires hands-on experience in cloud and security;
  • 4+ years of professional and relevant experience in related roles;
  • Development background using multiple development tools, techniques, and platform technologies, in at least one major language (Java, C#, Python, Javascript, Rust) with a preference for Python.
  • Automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Terraform would be an asset;
  • Experience with development of and securing of integration techniques including APIs, Queues, FTP, and other similar areas.
  • 3+ years of cybersecurity related experience;
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud security controls in AWS and/or Azure;
  • Understanding of Linux or Windows operating systems, and security and networking concepts;
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support in rotation for cloud support;
  • Container Orchestration experience would be an asset (Docker, Kubernetes deployments);
  • Good communication abilities with technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Good analytical, investigative and problem solving mindset;
  • Must be team oriented and at the same able to work with limited supervision;
  • Communicate exceptionally well with management, peers, and customers;
  • Have high attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Excellent time management skills;
