Specialist Audit Interline Agreements
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Specialist Audit Interline Agreements conducts financial and operational evaluations of Interline agreements to assess risks, identifies areas for enhancement, and provides detailed audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
The role utilizes deep institutional knowledge, an understanding of past practices, and insights into agreements to uncover ways to improve CPKC's financial standing. This involves applying targeted, critical thinking to address issues, recommend solutions that reduce expenses or uncover new revenue sources.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Conduct audits on CPKC Interline agreements focusing on data accuracy, rate adjustments, compliance, operational value, and root cause analysis, while also generating detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations
- Serve as the go-to agreement expert for critical Interline projects, ensuring the manager is updated on project statuses, risks, timelines, and benefits
- Drive continuous improvement by engaging stakeholders to enhance efficiencies and process improvements, and lead cross-functional teams towards high-standard analysis and recommendations
- Implement and execute business opportunities related to Interline agreements by collaborating with departments like Commercial, Operations, Strategy, and others to advance CPKC-friendly changes
- Support on monthly basis, the revenue and expense data relating to Interline Agreements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Railroad knowledge, particularly in operations, commercial, or legal domains, an asset
- Required application expertise includes SAP, Business Objects, BPC, Windows, and Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills for vendor management, and the ability to prioritize under continuous deadlines

Management Conductor Program:
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
