PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Is accountable for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting business/system solutions that will contribute to the organization's ability to achieve its goals;
  • Responsible for delivery of business or system solutions within a SDLC methodology;
  • Responsible for analyzing, constructing, testing, implementing and documenting application software solutions
  • Responsible for support of application software solutions in compliance with determined Service Level Agreements
  • Responsible for monitoring application software health, ensuring  optimal operation and performance throughout the organization’s software asset life cycle
  • Responsible for adherence to the organization’s chosen SDLC methodology
  • Coach developers on best practices and perform peer review of code.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Development and implementation of technology enhancements to a variety of application tools;
  • Code, test, document and deliver requested functionality changes or enhancements within established CP software development standards and processes;
  • Provide functional support for applications as needed;
  • Participate in project implementations, post-implementation reviews of both application development content and process to maximize and share learning;
  • Ensure that systems are developed which meet business requirements and for functionality, quality, stability and sustainability;
  • Assist in influencing decisions regarding policies and procedures, research, planning, and development activities;
  • Lead or participate in cross functional teams involved in issue resolution, ensure that internal -partners/stakeholders are kept advised of status;
  • Responsible for clearly and concisely articulating technical issues and resolutions with varied business stakeholders;
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.;
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for enhancements and support; ensure adoption and adherence to defined support processes (e.g. incident management, change management, etc.);

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Must possess a University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent  
  • 5-10+ years of Java enterprise application experience;
  • Interest or experience with SAPUI5 or OpenUI5, SAP PO;
  • Strong web application development, troubleshooting and problem solving skills with the ability to work with multiple teams/integration-points in a large environment;   
  • Experience in mobile web application development;
  • Working proficiency with Linux in both desktop and server environments;
  • Experience building rich “AJAX” internet applications with JavaScript;
  • Advanced SQL – modeling, advanced query writing, tuning/optimization of queries
  • Experience with in-memory Database management
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Oracle Database, SAP ODdata services, IBM MQ, Apache Subversion
  • Experience with Tomcat Application Server or similar;
  • Technology-driven product development processes;
  • Methodologies for effective delivery and support;
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple work assignments;
  • Ability to resolve conflict and conflicting stakeholder interests;
  • Experience working closely with the business to arrive at an optimal solution in terms of functionality, timelines and implementation;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and Information Services (IS) support teams;
  • Experience in business area supported by the application portfolio valuable but not required
  • Advanced analytical skills;
  • Advanced Skills in DB Queries and packages
  • Advanced interpersonal skills;
  • Proven problem solving abilities;
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for delivering solutions to complex issues;
  • Willingness to be in an On Call Rotation doing Application Support (24/7), taking ownership of incident resolution.
