PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Supervisor Structures is responsible for bridges and structures technical drafting for both planned work and emergency service interruptions.  This position also maintains bridges and structures standard drawings and system files for design briefs and drawing archives.  On average it will be about 70% office and 30% in the field performing site visit with other Engineers.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepares and reviews bridges and structures drawings and specifications for complex and multi-year bridge rehabilitation, repair and reconstruction projects across Canadian and US
  • Conducts review of material documents, shop drawings, plans and product specifications based on detailed design drawings and specifications for normal complexity bridges
  • Provides bridges and structures detailed inspections across Canadian and US in accordance with appropriate technical, safety, CPKC business and regulatory requirements
  • Supports emergency response to service interruptions involving bridges and structures
  • Assists in the development of new standard designs and drawings for bridge design, maintenance and construction
  • Maintains the system files for design briefs and assists with maintenance of system archive of drawings

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical college degree in drafting or civil/structural technology or equivalent industry experience
  • 10 plus years of operational or related structural drafting experience
  • Current AutoCAD experience
  • Experience in steel fabrication is a bonus
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport, ability to travel to US/CAN without restrictions

Management Conductor Program:
