PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing the safe completion of assigned track construction projects, ensuring all work aligns with established safety procedures and industry best practices. This role requires strong leadership and accountability, promoting a culture of excellence in safety, service quality, and productivity among team members. A thorough understanding of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is essential for effectively overseeing workflow. Candidates with a solid background in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply. This position requires 100% travel, covering the territory from Marquette, IA to Davenport, IA.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Report to Manager Production; maintain clear communication and provide updates on project progress and key metrics
- Uphold all CPKC regulations and standards in the execution of assigned project responsibilities, ensuring strict compliance and accountability
- Conduct thorough investigations into breaches of CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of optimized workflows and process enhancements to deliver ongoing efficiency and performance improvements
- Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Minimum two (2) years of engineering, construction or railroad industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license
- People leadership skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, complemented by a project management mindset

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
