PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Safely maintain the physical railway track within a specific territory in accordance with guidelines set forth by the FRA and CPKC.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 100% travel along the former DM&E territory (Runs from Tracy MN, towards Pingree Grove IL and stopping at Liberty MO) 
• Track maintenance and renewal work (working outdoors, in all weather conditions)
• Use of hand tools and small machines, operating track renewal equipment
• Standing, lifting, squatting for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50lbs or greater

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• 4 on 3 off schedule (10 hour shifts)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Reliable transportation to and from work site, and a valid driver’s license
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations, performing tasks in accordance with those rules
• 18 years of age or older
• High School diploma or GED
• While not required a CDL license or ability to obtain one (CPKC will help cover the associated costs) is the company preference

Medical Requirements:

CPKC is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the general public.  This position is a safety critical position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-employment medical that includes a physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and a hair follicle test.
