This multifaceted role presents an outstanding opportunity to significantly influence business operations as a key contributor, concentrating on Billing and Receivables systems. You will be integral in optimizing the entire "Lead to Cash" cycle—comprising Billing, Contract Rate Publications, Customer Disputes, Collections, and Cash Applications—while promoting process improvements, automating workflows, and ensuring compliance with financial controls.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead and implement process improvements across all areas of Billing & Receivables Management, collaborating with multiple departments to improve operational efficiency
- Analyze complex accounts within Billing, Disputes, Interline Settlement System (ISS), Agreements & Publications (A&P), and Cash application processes to identify issues, propose solutions, and improve performance metrics
- Oversee accurate billing and conduct trend analysis to proactively address billing patterns and customer behaviours
- Contribute to the successful execution of special projects and central initiatives as the need arises
- Ensure the accurate and timely publication of contract rates to ensure efficient and accurate customer invoicing
- Support leadership by maintaining detailed and comprehensive process documentation, including training resources, audit materials, and operational guidelines
- Maintain compliance with established processes and financial controls to uphold organizational integrity
- Investigate, assess, and resolve inbound disputes, ensuring required actions are taken for successful dispute resolution or interline settlements
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of experience in billing, rating, invoicing, and accounts receivable practices, ideally within the transportation industry
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, preferably using automation tools (including Macros) and SAP
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Spanish or French is highly desirable

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
