Purpose of the position:
As Project Manager you will be expected to provide project and construction management of railway projects; including track, bridges, structures or other related facilities. Position will conduct feasibility studies, site reconnaissance, development of cost estimates, conceptual and detailed engineering design. Also, the successful candidate will be responsible to direct and coordinate site construction activities associated with assigned projects ensuring completion within targeted budget and finish dates.
Position accountabilities:
- Directly manage the execution of assigned projects and deliver projects within defined scope, on time and on budget
- Provide field construction management of assigned projects
- Oversee design and permitting of projects
- Provide direction and oversight to engineering consultants working on CPKC projects
- Prepare cost estimates for internal review
- Provide conceptual design alternatives for internal business case reviews
- Review 3rd party customer and/or external projects to ensure CPKC Standards are met and CPKC operations are not impacted
- Provide on-call support and response on a rotating cycle for incidents and emergencies to support CPKC’s 24/7 operation
- Provide safety leadership through job site safety audits
- Requires travel when necessary to visit project sites and manage on site work. Anticipated travel 50-60%
Position requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering is preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of railway experience with progressive responsibility in design, construction oversight, and project management
- Will consider applicant with equivalent heavy civil construction and project management experience

- Management Conductor Program:
