PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position manages human resources data analytics, reporting and KPI dashboard activities across the CPKC network in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The role is responsible for gathering reporting requirements and understanding the business needs that go into HR analysis reporting. It requires close collaboration and partnership with HR technology teams, business stakeholders and HR leadership to translate requirements into concise, effective reports and analytics. The position holder needs to have a high attention to detail in order to proactively identify and correct reporting issues prior to publishing outputs.
The position holder should also be able to review output and perform effective data analysis, in order to develop an effective storyline that describes the data findings. Job duties will include creating and publishing data and analytics in common formats such as Microsoft Office, PowerBI Qlink or other related tools if avaialble.
This position also performs regular audits of HR data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creates daily, monthly, quarterly and annual HR reporting, auditing, and analysis including headcount reporting and forecasting, open and filled position reporting, job change analysis, turnover and new hire reporting, organization chart governance, and other reporting as appropriate
- Audits the accuracy of the HRIS system for data related to organization structure, job architecture and HR master data for both Management and Union employees within assigned countries
- Publishes reporting materials for a variety of projects or programs such as new hires, position changes, employee diversity, turnover or other requests
- Creates and publishes high-quality dashboards for the leadership team
- Documents procedures to ensure compliance with CPKC policy and applicable government regulations, and proposes process changes to improve efficiency
- Participates in HR projects involving compensation, HRIS, recruiting and/or benefits
- Exemplifies CPKC Vision, Values, and Culture interactions with coworkers, business partners, customers and stakeholders
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience in HR reporting and analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience using one or more dashboarding applications such as Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau or Google Analytics
- Experience using and updating data in SAP or SuccessFactors
- SQL and/or Microsoft Access experience

Management Conductor Program:
