HCM Functional Analyst - SAP Payroll and Benefits

The Sr Functional Analyst SAP HCM are Subject Matter Experts within their Information Services domain (application, network and infrastructure). They are thought leaders who resolve complex situations, apply critical thinking techniques to challenge existing business processes and solutions, identify optimization opportunities and create strategic plans and deliver them to help business achieve significant value. They coach and develop less experienced team members to exhibit strong understanding of SAP ECC and S4 HCM. 

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leads a functional development area for SAP ECC and S4 HCM competency
  • Maintain and support one or more of CPKC’s SAP Payroll (US, Mexico is a plus)
  • Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from stakeholders. Understand business issues and opportunities. Analyze and define both the “As Is” and “To Be” business processes and perform a gap analysis
  • Analyze, develop, test and implement new functionalities for enhancement and support pack updates in SAP ECC 6.x versions and interfaces related to SAP Payroll and Benefits
  • Develop detailed test plans and test scripts for SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) and work with other functional teams to ensure continued effective integration of SAP
  • Provide knowledge transfer and coaching to other SAP Functional Analysts
  • Provide support for transferring of GL posting to S4
  • Ability to “see” the big picture and impacts of the proposed changes on the whole SAP landscape
  • Good communication and documentation skills and abitliy to deliver under pressure and time constraints
  • Familiarity with tax reporting such as W2, year-end processes, off-cycle payroll, garnishment,  payroll workbench and BSI TaxFactory (OM/PA a plus)
  • General knowledge of SuccessFactors Employee Profile

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science, Commerce/Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in SAP Human Resources module: US Payroll (must have), Mexico Payroll knowledge will be considered an asset
  • Practical experience with using a wide variety of techniques to elicit requirements (i.e. Research, Verbal protocols, Focus groups, Brainstorming, Interviews, Questionnaires, Prototyping, etc.) and in using a variety of models/diagrams/documents to capture, document and interpret requirements
  • Expertise in facilitation, negotiation, gaining consensus and managing conflict of diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience with SAP Payroll Schemas and PCRs
  • Excellent understanding of SAP HCM submodule(s) and the integration between various SAP modules
  • Fundamental knowledge of railway operations and processes will be considered an asset

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
