POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for all employees on the crew and ensuring they have all required PPE;
  • Conduct job briefings daily;
  • Participate in safety meetings monthly;
  • Communicate and correct unsafe conditions to crews;
  • Observe employees to ensure safe work practices are used;
  • Charge out material to appropriate cost center;
  • Ensure all repair and return material is placed in service as soon as possible;
  • Ensure all regulatory tests are completed and submitted into the electronic test system;
  • Assist maintainers with testing
  • Accompany FRA inspectors when they are on CP Territory;
  • Review and address trouble areas;
  • Review and ensure S&C Safety Bulletins and alerts are completed in a timely manner’
  • Perform routine inspections of the S&C plant;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must be able to work outdoors and at times in remote locations and in adverse weather conditions;
  • Work experience with heavy equipment is an asset;
  • Previous working knowledge of signaling systems and railroad signalman qualification;
  • Ability to lead a team;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Medical Requirements:
