PURPOSE OF POSITION:

New hire Qualified Locomotive Electrician will receive a $15,000 signing bonus. An electrician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining diesel locomotive electrical systems in accordance with company guidelines and federal regulations; detecting and diagnosing diesel engine electrical malfunctions, and making necessary repairs.  By applying to this job you will be put into a pool of candidates that will be used throughout the year to fill positions when they become available in this area. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Electrical repair and maintenance of diesel locomotives
• Electrical modifications/upgrades to locomotive systems
• Diagnostic trouble shooting with onboard computer systems/laptops
• Will be responsible for other duties as assigned in compliance with FRA Rules and Safety Regulations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Journeyman Electrician is preferred, but will consider applicants with related electrical experience
• Diesel electrical experience is preferred. However, electrical experience or training with other types of machinery/truck or automotive electrical repairs and upgrades to systems is considered
• Ability to follow Electrical Schematics is a definite asset
• Must be safety oriented and comply with safety rules and regulations
• Must be willing to work shifts, 24/7 seniority based operation
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Medical Requirements:

Qualification drug test(s) are also required.
