PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Supervisor Production will effectively lead and oversee the safe execution of assigned track construction projects, ensuring adherence to established safety protocols and industry standards. Demonstrate strong leadership accountability by fostering a culture of excellence in safety, service quality, and productivity.  Thorough knowledge of collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is necessary to manage work flow.  Candidates with a solid construction and/or manufacturing management background will also be considered.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Report to Manager Production; maintain clear communication and provide updates on project progress and key metrics
  • Uphold all CPKC regulations and standards in the execution of assigned project responsibilities, ensuring strict compliance and accountability
  • Conduct thorough investigations into breaches of CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of optimized workflows and process enhancements to deliver ongoing efficiency and performance improvements
  • Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
  • Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Valid driver's license
  • Capability to lead a project plan/schedule
  • People leadership skills
  • Microsoft Excel (Proficient level)

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

 

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
