Sourcing Specialist - Engineering Services

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Manager Engineering Services, the Specialist Sourcing - Engineering is accountable for driving the Contract Life Cycle from Request for Proposal (RFP) through Contract Close-out in SAP & Ariba in a manner consistent with industry best practices and standards.  The successful candidate will be tasked with driving value by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of service deliverables.  

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Carry-out contract negotiations and sourcing initiatives for critical services in support of Capacity Expansion Projects
  • Drive value-add initiatives that improve efficiencies across the CPKC Network
  • Foster relationships with operational groups across CPKC's network to drive key mandates & objectives
  • Facilitate coordination of service requirements, lead arbitrations and develop recommendations based upon best value propositions
  • Manage the Contract Lifecycle for both Discrete Scopes of Work and Master Service Agreements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Support KPIs and associated reporting to drive insight, action and compliance to objectives
  • Work collaboratively with other team members across the organization on various initiatives

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-Secondary Education preferably a University Degree (Business, Finance or Engineering)
  • At least three years of experience in Sourcing
  • Knowledge of the railway industry is an asset
  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain Management workflow processes
  • SAP, Ariba or relevant ERP experience
  • Microsoft Office experience with Excel, Word and Power-point
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience conducting analysis of complex data to arrive at measurable recommendations
  • Robust Multi-Task Capability
  • Demonstrated customer service focus
  • Proven facilitator with the ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict

Management Conductor Program:
