PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Join CPKC’s technology team and play a key role in transforming how HR services are delivered across the organization. The Specialist Functional Analyst, SAP HCM is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing SAP Human Capital Management solutions, ensuring reliable and efficient delivery HR processes. Working with both business and technical stakeholders, this position drives continuous improvement initiatives, implements innovative solutions, and contributes to the success of enterprise-wide programs that support more than just systems, but the people who keep CPKC moving every day
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain and support SAP HCM Organizational Management (OM) and Personnel Administration (PA) configurations, enhancements, system changes, and related vendor/application interfaces while managing SAP Online Support System notes and transports
- Evaluate and resolve application service requests, provide ongoing business application support, investigate production issues, identify root causes, and support application upgrades and maintenance activities
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, analyze, prioritize, validate, and document business requirements, build consensus across user groups, and produce detailed functional specifications
- Liaise closely with technical teams including Basis, ABAP, PO, and other support groups to communicate business requirements, support solution design and implementation, and assist with user documentation and training materials
- Develop and support test strategies and test plans, ensuring end-to-end traceability of requirements from business needs through solution design, testing, validation, and verification of functional specifications
- Participate in CPKC’s SAP S/4HANA RISE Cloud transformation and other strategic initiatives while assessing the broader impact of proposed changes across the SAP landscape and leading discussions on enterprise-wide solutions
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science, Commerce/Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of SAP HCM Functional Analysis experience with progressive responsibility, including hands-on configuration of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Organizational Management (OM) and Personnel Administration (PA), with a strong understanding of HCM modules and cross-module integration
- Proven experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and interpreting business requirements using a variety of techniques including research, interviews, workshops, focus groups, brainstorming, questionnaires, prototyping, and process modeling
- Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus-building, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage client expectations, resolve conflicts, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, a proactive "go-getter" mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and cultural environments
- Working knowledge of SAP Time and Attendance, Payroll, and/or SuccessFactors is considered an asset; experience within railway operations and processes is an asset; proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and contribute to successful business outcomes

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
