PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

CPKC is seeking applicants willing to work in a fast paced, high technology industry; developing Train Yard Control software/hardware Systems (TYC). The ideal applicant must possess well developed: communication skills (written and verbal), working knowledge of current & future trending software/hardware control methodology, understanding of engineering standards and documentation.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist in development of Train Yard Control (TYC) standards, practices, policies and software/hardware designs.
• Investigate, develop, field ready, and test new technologies for the current and future direction of CPKC TYC systems.
• Establish, develop and maintain working relationships with all departments and vendors of CPKC.
• Coach, train, and mentor CPKC employees to safely and efficiently utilize TYC systems implemented in the field, at location.
• Insure projects are on schedule, within budget and meet field use expectations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by engineering management team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• BSEE, BS Computer Science/engineering, or equivalent
• Five years of C++, or embedded development of control software systems
• Working knowledge of Virtual Machine technology, networks, LINUX, and IP data interchange
• Five years’ experience of train control automation with Class I, II or II Railroad or Railroad Vendor preferred.

Medical Requirements:
