PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Supervisor Boarding Car Maintenance role presents a compelling opportunity to impact track construction projects and contribute meaningfully to the success of Track Renewal operations. This position is accountable for overseeing the safe, efficient, and timely execution of all boarding car related maintenance consistent with established safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational expectations. This position is currently on a 7 & 7 schedule with a territory that covers Thunder Bay to Mactier, with all travel expenses paid by CPKC.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations outside regular hours, ensuring uninterrupted operations for boarding car occupants.
- Supervise, train, and mentor unionized employees
- Enforce all health, safety, and environmental protocols
- Ensure compliance with all CPKC regulations, standards, and safety protocols across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Develop and execute schedules for daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance
- Contribute to the development and implementation of optimized workflows and process enhancements to deliver ongoing efficiency and performance improvements
- Order, stock, and distribute PPE, lubricants, and other common consumables.
- Prepare boarding cars for location changes and set up for occupancy at destination.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 2 years' experience with Track Renewal/Maintenance
- Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time
- Proven ability to lead and execute project plans and schedules effectively
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
