PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the Supervisor Maintenance – Intermodal Operations, you will supervise, plan and organize all Intermodal equipment maintenance & repair activities for Intermodal facilities. Expectation to minimize down time of all equipment due to breakdowns.    

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Schedule maintenance and CVI inspections for intermodal chassis fleet;
  • Schedule maintenance, repairs and retirement on the container fleet;
  • Schedule maintenance, repairs for lift and shunt equipment;
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs performed are in accordance of manufacturer’s recommendations, AAR Rules & Regulations, Federal & Provincial Laws of Canada;
  • Ensure the company’s environmental policies are being adhered to and that wastes are disposed of in accordance with CPR’s, federal and provincial standards;
  • Ensure that all contractors working on CPR’s behalf have the required experience, qualifications and licenses to perform their duties in their respective fields;
  • Investigate all damage claims to chassis, generator sets, containers with a view to improving work procedures and minimizing damage to equipment;
  • Ensure any intent to claim for damage recovery by third party companies are handled in a timely manner;
  • Ensure contractors perform their work within the safety guidelines set forth by CPR;
  • Process maintenance related invoices and audit invoices as required;
  • Works with Maintenance Managers and Asset Management and Supply Services on asset strategies and RFP proposals.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school;
  • College or University preferred;
  • Management or Supervisor experience in Maintenance of equipment required, minimum of 2 years;
  • Familiar with Commercial Vehicle inspection regulations;
  • Understanding of  Standard maintenance procedures of Heavy Equipment is desirable;
  • Skills/abilities: identify technical skills and abilities required to do the job;
  • Strong Mechanical background;
  • Journey Man Certification in Maintenance of Road or Off-road equipment is desirable.

Management Conductor Program:
