PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Analyst Billing & Receivables Management will ensure accurate and timely invoice, dispute and receivables management while analyzing trends, generating critical metrics, performing audits, completing internal controls and supporting month-end close.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review, triage, and complete Non-Freight invoicing (e.g., work orders, mishaps, projects, and miscellaneous billing) accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct dispute investigations while capturing supporting information, communicate with collaborators, customers, partners, and team members involved, and developing appropriate resolution strategies
- Responsible for monitoring customer accounts, handling customer inquiries including providing detailed reconciliations and statements as required, managing overdue accounts, and ensuring timely payments
- Prepare and complete weekly, monthly, and annual financial transactions, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, actuals postings, and variance analysis
- Deliver detailed, accurate reporting and insights, including enabling data-driven decision-making for senior leadership month-end tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliation, match-and-clear processes with valuable analysis for senior leadership
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes–Oxley Act (SOX) regulations and internal controls by conducting reviews, generating documentation, and supporting audits, while upholding compliance standards
- Identify and lead improvement in execution initiatives, including automation opportunities, while maintaining and creating comprehensive process documentation
- Aid the Manager, Non-Freight, and collaborate with team members to ensure team objectives and deliverables are achieved
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education in business, finance or accounting or equivalent relevant experience with a preference for railroad industry experience
- 2+ years of experience in invoicing, receivables or collections, billing dispute resolution

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
