PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The eBusiness Coordinator is at the forefront of educating customers on all aspects of shipping with CPKC including but not limited to finance, inventory, rail movement and shipping instructions, business reviews, and liaising with customers and internal CPKC teams.

The position advocates on behalf of customers where service issues exist while maintaining the integrity of CPKC and exhibiting confidentiality as appropriate.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deliver world-class service to customers that supports profitable growth and meets ongoing customer requirements
  • Lead, develop, plan, and implement the key objectives outlined under the Service Strategy (deliver results for customers, wow customers daily, build strong customer relationships/partnerships, assess/anticipate customer needs)
  • Address customer issues with CPKC’s electronic offerings as they are identified
  • Handle registrations and set up of new users on the CPKC web Portal and other web applications
  • Deploy and support mid-high and complex customer electronic solutions, ensuring customer commitments are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Conduct remote training and provide system overviews and knowledge-sharing opportunities via webinars to both internal and external users of Customer Station
  • Provide training and enhanced onboarding covering technical and procedural guidance to new intermodal and carload customers
  • Willing and able to work on projects and implementation of new technology
  • Solicit feedback from customers to identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Understand the customer’s business, industry, and supply chain needs
  • Provide data analysis on customer trends, invoice and billing processes, and metrics for internal teams
  • Provide mid to high-level business requirements based on identified customer needs to facilitate development and enhancements to CPKC web applications
  • Assist with development and perform User Acceptance Testing for web applications
  • Handle all aspects of project management on small projects including requirements development and documentation, implementation plan and testing of solution once delivered to ensure customer usability and functionality

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Management, Economics, Marketing, Business or other related field
  • 2 years experience within similar workstreams or knowledge of railway processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Office productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and Internet tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult customers and remain professional and composed, able to adjust to customers' communication style
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence other departments and levels of the organization on complex subjects
  • Customer-oriented and able to work under pressure with strict timelines
  • Proficiency in English and French both verbal and written skills; an asset
  • Willing to be on-call or work statutory holidays and/or weekends when required

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
