PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Hire-to-Retire (H2R) Business Transformation Services HRIS Business Analyst II is responsible in gathering requirements, user acceptance testing of Human Resources (HR) applications, producing complex reporting, and driving resolution to business production issues to make our HRIS and supporting HRIS systems and technology better. As experience is gained, assignments will become more varied and complex and the level of independent action will increase within the established guidelines. In this role, you will engage and collaborate with Human Resources, Labour Relations, Network Service Center and IS teams to identify opportunities to utilize technology to enable streamlined processes by acknowledging and understanding people, process and technology. The role supports various H2R systems within Canadian Pacific including but not limited to SAP, SuccessFactors, Concur and legacy applications. This position will require providing service, building and maintaining relationships with the business and functioning as a team player.


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support of all H2R/HRIS systems
  • Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, design thinking, task and workflow analysis
  • Reviews and analyzes system problems to identify solutions or recommendations
  • Work with business teams to understand and document business process requirements; analysing and validating for automation feasibility; assisting the core automation team in creating the business case
  • Performs testing, identify issues with respect to solution performance, communicate required changes to development team and track resolution;
  • System requirement identification and documentation analysis
  • Plans and facilitates workshops to identify and validate requirements with IS and business stakeholders in support of projects and opportunities.
  • Builds knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers; Solves a range of straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures; Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
  • Leads process mapping/modeling and translates requirements into design
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor application of policy and process, Collective Bargaining Agreement and provide feedback on status;
  • Analyse requests from stakeholders and determine feasibility and impacts to existing software solutions and business process;
  • Support the design of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) process components, including process flows, control objects, exception handling, etc. with extended IS teams;
  • Leverages best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services; Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May be required to work irregular hours (weekends, evenings)
  • May be required to perform oncall duties as required
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities; managing and communicating interdepartmental and management expectations
  • Provides a moderate level of input into system or process availability, in accordance with procedures and policies to achieve optimal performance in the area of expertise.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Management, or Technical Discipline Or
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.     
  • Experience working with SAP ECC HCM and EHS modules.                            
  • Experience working in the Successfactors suite of products.                         
  • Experience within the rail industry transportation would be an asset
  • Experience with process mapping and project management methodology.           
  • Experience working along side Human Resources regarding process, procedure and policy development or creation. 
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with peers, superiors and members of cross functional teams
  • Experience collaborating with a team both locally and virtually              
  • Experience partnering with others to solve problems quickly and efficiently                 
  • Experience in similar roles with demonstrated analytical skills                     
  • Demonstrated history of responsibility to resolve progressively more complex situations

Management Conductor Program:
