PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Manager Network Operations, you will manage 24x7 operations both onsite in Winnipeg and in offsite locations. Your crucial role supports accurate train reporting, customer requests, waybilling, and border documentation, focusing on safety, service, productivity, and financial performance. You'll lead team efforts, mentor staff, promote innovation for cost savings and process improvement, adhere to SLAs, collaborate with Train and Engine staff on operational issues, handle workforce concerns, and serve as the main escalation point for production floor issues. 

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise the department by establishing priorities, allocating team workloads, providing mentorship for customer service, and maintaining consistency in work
  • Support initiatives to decrease costs and enhance operational processes
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for processing documents and requests
  • Work with Train and Engine staff to resolve shift-related issues to ensure efficient train operations
  • Act as a contact point for addressing issues on the production floor

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education and or at least 5 years of experience in leadership and customer service
  • Competent in MS Office tools
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and capability to handle multiple tasks
  • Railway experience, an asset
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and handle conflict situations

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
