PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Join our Organizational Development (OD) team as summer student and gain hands‑on experience across OD, Data Analytics, and Employee Relations. You'll work with leading HR tools like Qualtrics, SharePoint, and LinkedIn Learning while supporting projects that strengthen workforce experience and organizational effectiveness. Build skills in communication, project management, and data-driven decision-making as you support the HR Strategy & Integration team and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support leadership development workshops by managing participant lists, materials, and logistics
- Research and map LinkedIn Learning content to support learning and development needs
- Contribute to the refresh of New Hire Onboarding sessions
- Review and recommend improvements to internal SharePoint content and layout
- Provide administrative support including inbox management and process documentation
- Assist with survey design, administration, and reporting in Qualtrics, including onboarding and exit surveys
- Update LinkedIn Learning dashboards and analyze engagement and usage trends
- Perform routine master data reviews and prepare weekly HR reports
- Support policy inventory tracking, cleanup, and file maintenance
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrolled in or completed a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and applications
- Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel pivot tables) is a plus
- Basic knowledge or interest in HR topics like onboarding, diversity, inclusion, and L&D
- Experience with LinkedIn Learning or similar training platforms is an asset but not required
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
