PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Coordinator Utilities will support the Utilities team with the coordination and administration of all documents related to new permits and agreements along with reviewing utility requests and applications within the region and service area. The successful candidate will prepare and input customer information into SAP for invoicing purposes. This individual will analyze monthly and yearly generated revenue results for SOX compliance and variance reporting purposes.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review and coordinate the administration and documentation of all overhead and underground utility crossing permits and agreements i.e. Powerlines, Gas & Oil, Fiber Optic installations etc.,
- Maintain customer account information, conduct billing through SAP modules along with allocating application fees through non-freight billing.
- Respond to customer enquiries, disputes and liaises with Accounts Receivable, Legal, and Risk Management, along with third party specialists concerning collection matters, insurance requirements and other matters pertaining to utility agreements
- Screen, manage, and prioritize third-party utility requests received through the Utilities_RequestsCanada@CPKCR.com portal
- Assist the Utility and Geotechnical team with creating work orders, as required, for flagging related works
- Maintain utility master log and shared departmental file folders
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Engineering Technical certifications and or other right-of-way disciplines would be an asset
- Some experience in utilities management; preference given to candidates with background in gas, hydro, or telecommunications sectors
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to make independent decisions and excel in a fast-paced environment through effective multitasking
- Workload prioritization would be valuable
- Proven planning, organizational, and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant computer applications
- Bilingual in both English and French, with strong oral and written communication skills

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
